For approximately six years, the 110th Wing has supported MQ-9 “Reaper” flight operations in remote parts of the world. Last Thursday, an MQ-9 was launched in Michigan state for the first time ever! This historic event would not have been possible without the efforts of many of our Airmen. Congratulations to all who helped make the MQ-9 launch and recovery element’s participation at #NorthernStrike19 a reality!
Battle Creek has a rich history with aviation. Did you know one of the Wright Brothers’ airplanes flew over the city in 1911? 108 years later, aircrews support DoD operations 24/7 from Battle Creek Air National Guard Base, piloting aircraft remotely from thousands of miles away. Incredible to think how quickly technology has advanced!
Happy Fourth of July and thanks to all of the U.S. veterans, allies, and partners who have fought to secure our values of life, liberty, and democracy for the past 243 years!
The 110th Wing was well-represented at today’s Michigan National Guard Memorial Pass in Review at Camp Grayling. Great job, team! #110WG #eliteairmen #teammichigan
